This young man (young artist…) is really inspiring

One can’t believe this young artist is 12 years old as he sounds so mature in his singing and full of self confidence.

We always are amazed at this phenomena – when a very young child appears from nowhere in the center of the stage and causes us to ask – is he really 12 years old? How can it be…

Usually it takes many years to learn to play the piano and master the art of singing, not to mention you have to overcome your fears etc…

Here we see the opposite – so perfect and so natural…

When I posted this video of Lin Yu Chun singing, I knew that it would get a large response, but I had no idea how large! So many people from around the world have commented about how much they enjoyed the video, just as I was blown away when I first came across it. I see a lot of the comments that are sent to this channel, and I have been amazed at their overwhelmingly positive nature. Sure, there are a few mean ones, but those are actually rare. My faith in humanity is renewed. =)

Taiwan singer hits all the right notes as YouTube clip goes viral

As a younger man, Taiwan’s Lin Yu-chun sang for hours on end, trying to get his mind off the sneers he endured because of his portly figure.

The round-faced soprano with the bowl haircut never imagined his voice would one day transform him into an international sensation.

But now, he is being compared to Britain’s Susan Boyle, the plain-looking 48-year-old who shot to stardom after singing “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent.”

Lin’s Whitney Houston-like rendition of “I Will Always Love You” on Taiwan’s “Avenue to Stardom” talent show last Friday has already racked up some 1.3 million views on YouTube, and the number is climbing fast.

For the 24-year-old with the disparaging nickname of “Little Fatty,” the event has been a life-changer.

“I now have more confidence in pursuing a singing career,” Lin told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. “You don’t have to be a good-looking man or woman to succeed. Just be yourself and try your best.”

Lin said he had long suffered from a lack of self-confidence because of his plain looks and rotund figure.

“Being fat draws a lot of mockery in our society,” he said.

To cope with the pain of his exclusion, he locked himself in his room and sang along with the songs of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.

But the artist who really grabbed him was Houston — particularly the song “I Will Always Love You,” from the soundtrack to the 1992 film “The Bodyguard.”

“I played it again and again even though my parents couldn’t stand it any more and asked me to stop,” Lin said.

Lin has had a bumpy start to stardom.

After graduating from college last year, he failed to make much of an impression on another Taiwanese talent show, where judges criticized both his looks and his high-pitched voice.

“One said I should instead pursue the career of a comedian, and another questioned whether it was right for a man to sing soprano,” he said.

Now all that is behind him.

“(The show) has reinvigorated me,” he said.

Still, Lin said, he is doing his best not to let his new found fame go to his head.

“I’m trying not to be overwhelmed,” he said.

Paris Hilton has the Brazilian government up in arms.

A spokesperson for the country’s Secretariat for Women’s Affairs wants a beer commercial the heiress stars in off the air, according to the AP.

In the ad, Hilton, 29, poses in a short black dress and rubs a can of Devassa (which translates to “naughty”) beer on herself while onlookers swoon through a window.

“It’s an ad that devalues women – in particular, blond women,” says the spokeswoman.

Eduardo Correia, a spokesperson for regulation company Conar, which has opened three investigations into the campaign, says the ad is particularly offensive because it doesn’t take place on a beach. (The country is known for its tiny bikinis.)

“The problem with the ad isn’t a lack of clothing, but its sensual nature,” Correia said. “A woman in a bikini on a beach isn’t necessarily sensual; it depends on the context.”

Wrote Hilton on Twitter Friday, “Are they serious? So ridiculous.”

The official video of I Want To Come Home Everybodys Fine by Paul McCartney. (I Want To Come Home) Everybodys Fine is taken from the new Robert De Niro film Everybodys Fine.

Paul McCartney was asked by the director of Robert DeNiro and Drew Barrymore film Everybody’s Fine, to write a song. What Paul came up with, I Want to Come Home was just nominated for a Golden Globe award.

Paul McCartney doesn’t write many songs for films. But the former Beatle did offer up the ballad “(I Want to) Come Home” for the new Robert De Niro movie, Everybody’s Fine, about a widower trying to reconnect with his grown-up children at Christmastime. It’s a storyline, as it turns out, McCartney can relate to.

McCartney and his wife Linda, who died in 1998, had three children, and he adopted her daughter from a previous marriage. He also has a 6-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Heather Mills. In an interview with Variety, McCartney commented on his personal link to the new film and its effect on the songwriting process:

“It’s not necessary for me to relate to a project that I’m writing about, but if I do, it’s more interesting. The De Niro character lost his wife, has grown-up children and wants to get them together for Christmas. I know that syndrome.”

Speaking to the Canadian Press, Kirk Jones, director of Everybody’s Fine, said he loves how the new song works for the film, noting that McCartney performed it with so much passion and honesty.

“I love the fact that it was written and sung by a man who has lived a life and experienced a number of things that were related to the movie.”

The 67-year-old McCartney acknowledged that he shed a few tears when he watched an early screening of the film, clearly identifying with DeNiro’s character.

McCartney said he wrote “I Want to Come Home” from the viewpoint of De Niro’s character. But he noted the song could be interpreted from the adult children perspective, perhaps a subconscious aspect of composing this particular song.

“The magic of songs and the magic of composing is you don’t always know what you’re doing, and that’s what hooks me into it, and why I could never stop composing.”

Other McCartney film work includes the James Bond film Live and Let Die and Cameron Crowe’s Vanilla Sky. He also wrote tunes for the 1980s film Spies Like Us, but don’t hold that against him.
